Feeling like a turkey

Well, it's not easy for me to be thankful at thanksgiving this year with all that has happened this year. Unemployment, "love" found and lost, losing the best friendL and most important person in my life, the rapidly aproaching challenges etc...

but I gotta say. It's actually been a great year despite the ups and downs. I quit smoking over a year ago and I have to admit that I am proud of that as well as being thankful. I have enjoyed every season on the trail, in the woods or on the road like no other year in a very long time. I have put more miles on the bike this year then I have in awhile. I discovered the joy and challenge of geocaching. I have met some wonderful people and made some great new friends both near and far. I met a wonderful young lady who later broke my heart, I have been introduced to some great music and best of all, I have two precious little ones on the way next year. The only thing that would make me more thankful is to have someone special in my life to share all of these gifts with.

The best thing I learned this past year is that today will be gone tommorow so live for today before it is over and make today worth remembering and make tommorow worth looking forward too.

I am so thankfull for being able to put food on the table, gas in the tank, keep a roof over my head and the lights turned on and somehow still I can find the time to visit the great outdoors and be amazed by the beauty that the lord has blessed all of us with if we just open our eyes.

If you are thinking to yourself that you have nothing to be thankful for, think again. You are able to read this good or bad because you woke up this morning, you have access to a computer and the internet, you have the right to read what you choose to without censorship, you can take some time from your day for yourself instead of work or family. Because of these simple things you have more reason to be thankful because of the oportunities infront of you if you choose to make the best of what's available and make today or tommorow something to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Lifes worth living so Gobble it up!    (sorry, I had to :<)
